The organization was founded in 2000 by Stephen J. Hirschfeld, Esq.,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.chklawyers.com/attorneys/bio.cfm?id=16 )〕 who currently serves as the organization's CEO. Hirschfeld was honored for his contributions to legal marketing with the 2011 Legal Marketing Association - Bay Area Chapter's Rella Lossy award. Hirschfeld was hired by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to evaluate gender issues raised by Ellen Pao.
